This year’s Michael Strange Foundation Weekend Workshop for Gold Stars will be held April 3, 2025 in Philadelphia.
Day 1: Thursday, April 3, 2025
11AM Depart for Phillies game from hotel
1PM Philadelphia Phillies game at Citizen’s Bank Park starts
4PM After the game, enjoy Tony and Nicky Lukes Philly Cheesesteaks
On Day One, we will enjoy each other’s company at the Philadelphia Phillies game. After the game, we will have dinner at Tony and Nicky Lukes where they will serve their famous Philly Cheesesteak among other sandwich choices including Italian pork with sharp provolone and spinach. After dinner, at Tony and Nicky Lukes, each Gold Star family can hang up a photo of their lost loved one, as shown in the photo below from Tony and Nicky Lukes.
Day 2: Friday, April 4, 2025
1PM Lunch in the Conference room at the hotel
430PM Dinner in the Conference Room at the hotel
6PM Workshop Begins including Color Guard, Prayer, Grief Counselor Mandi Love
On Friday, Day 2 of the Gold Star Weekend Workshop, the group will first meet in the hotel conference room at 1PM for lunch. Then, the group will get back together at 430PM for dinner, preparing for Saturday’s workshop to begin at 6PM. The color guards will be there to perform in honor of loved ones lost during a time of war. Mr. Charles Strange, the President of the Michael Strange Foundation, will introduce everyone, including Mandi Love will counsel the group on grief. Mrs. Mary Strange will give out homework assignments for the following day about your loved ones.
Day 3: Saturday April 5, 2025
6AM-9AM Breakfast at the hotel
930AM Promptly meet in conference room
530PM Meet at conference room to be escorted to local VFW and American Legion Post for a live band, food, and open bar.
On Saturday morning breakfast at Hotel 6-9am. After breakfast, meet in the conference room no later than 9:30AM sharp. (Please be on time for all meetings, especially this one, because it is very rude to come in when someone is speaking about their son or daughter’s death.) After the morning session, the group will meet again at the conference room to be escorted to VFW POST 6617 and American Legion Post 810 at 9151 Old Newtown Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19115 from 6-10pm. Entertainment includes the live band the Bug Hunters, food and open bar. After an evening of entertainment the group will retire back to the hotel.
Day 4: Sunday, April 6, 2025
6AM-9AM Breakfast
9AM Meet back in Conference Room
1030AM Weekend Workshop ends
On Sunday, April 6, the group will first have breakfast at the hotel during breakfast hours. Following breakfast, the group will meet back in the conference room from 9AM sharp to 1030AM when the Gold Star Weekend Workshop ends.
All transportation and hotels are paid for by Specialty Freights , Patriot Fund , War on The Water , Cardinal Communications, Tom Masci, Constellation, and so many great Patriots.
