Today, we honor and remember the fallen from Extortion 17, especially PO1 Michael Strange. Those who honorably served our country in the War on Terror, a war that is ongoing to this day. 14 years ago, on August 6, 2011, Extortion 17— the largest loss of life during the War on Terror— was set-up and shot down. 30 men murdered. And still no answers from the highest levels of government. Prior to the election, Trump promised an investigation week one into Extortion 17, and has not yet delivered. The coordinated attack occurred during the Barack Obama administration and sources in the paperwork recovered by the Strange’s suggest the set-up goes to the top of the Obama administration.

These men, 17 Navy SEALs from SEAL Team 6, the same team, though not all the same members, were involved in the Osama bin Laden raid in Pakistan a mere 3 months prior. A total of 30 men and Bart the Warrior Dog were murdered in Afghanistan 14 years ago, and the people who help set them up have not seen accountability. In order to ensure something like this doesn’t happen again, Charlie Strange, President of the Michael Strange Foundation, has gone to Washington D.C. to petition representatives regarding an Extortion 17 investigation.

The letter reads:

…”From the evidence presented, it became clear that the Taliban was overly prepared for the shoot down, leading us to conclude it was a complete setup, not an act of war. This isn’t my opinion; it’s reality based on the pages provided by our own government—pages they didn’t want me to have and tried to take back. Again, more coincidences.

Years after we ended the war in Afghanistan, 13 more American heroes died due to a botched withdrawal at Abbey Gate, a result of failed leadership. Still, there are no answers about my son Michael. I met President Trump during his first term when he graciously invited us to join him with other Gold Star families at the White House. I showed him the paperwork. I was hopeful during his 2016 term for answers and justice. I believe in Mr. Trump, but I was let down in 2016 and waited another eight years for the promised investigation.

We promoted Mr. Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. We spoke at the Lehigh Valley Tea Party, Berks County Patriots, Chester County Republican Party, and other events in support of Mr. Trump. We distributed over 500 yard signs supporting him. In 2024, we were asked to bring families who lost loved ones to fentanyl and violent crime to events supporting JD Vance. We helped coordinate Mr. Trump’s visit to Tony & Nick’s, a Philadelphia restaurant, before the election. We also had the opportunity to meet and greet Gold Star families from the Abbey Gate tragedy at Temple University during a President Trump speaking engagement.

Before the election, Mr. Trump promised me on stage near Philadelphia that he would initiate an investigation into the events of Extortion 17 within the first week of his presidency. That time has passed, and we are still awaiting that investigation. Now, we are asking for your help. We are humbly requesting—indeed, demanding—that you vocally support an investigation into the death of my son, Michael, and the 29 other American men who were on board Extortion 17. Please make it known to President Trump that we are ready to see a true investigation take place and to hold those accountable for the largest loss of life in Afghanistan and for treasonous crimes against the best of the best: SEAL Team 6. Please vocally support this investigation, as Mr. Trump will need support …”

Charlie anxiously awaits Trump’s call. 14 years has come and gone by and not one day has Charlie forgotten or haven’t thought about Michael. Each year without justice for the individuals who set-up Extortion 17 is justice denied. Therefore, Charlie went to Washington D.C. to request members of congress support the investigation into Extortion 17.
